Following the initial consultation and recommendation for a total hip replacement by Mr Masterson I underwent surgery at Spire London East. I received excellent care by the hospital staff during my 3 day stay and the operation was performed to an outstanding standard by Mr Masterson. Recovery has been quick and pain free. After 6 weeks I am totally mobile and able to walk without discomfort and walking aids for a considerable distance. The scarring is minimal. This is a highly technical procedure performed with ultimate skill. I am in awe.

Mr Masterson performed a total hip replacement for me in Novemeber 2021. The surgery went well, there is minimal scarring, and I am really pleased with the rate of recovery and the movement I now have in my hip

In August 2021 I had a hip replacement carried out by Mr. Masterson, after a blip with my blood pressure (my white coat syndrome!) on the day, my surgery then went very well under epidural and sedation. The theatre team were reassuring and I was amazed how everything proceeded with military precision. It was also reassuring that Mr. Masterson had arranged an X-ray to check all was well before I was up on my feet the next day. I am an NHS patient with Spire and I have had a very good experience in their care, the nurses and physiotherapists were very kind and efficient. When I left I hospital after 2 nights all medicines, equipment, and follow-up appointments were ready for me. I was very impressed.. I had an exceedingly good and quick recovery after my surgery, which is certainly a testament to Mr. Masterson's skill. Pre discharge - Mr. Masterson was honest and strict about the importance of post-surgery exercises which seemed a bit daunting at the time, but it spurred me on..and certainly paid off in the end. At my follow-up appointments, Mr. Masterson has always put me at my ease and has been very encouraging and supportive. I feel I had great care ! and am pleased to say I was up and dancing( a lot) at the new year Yay! So I am very thankful...

A hip replacement - was pain free from day 3, crutch free within a week. 2 neat scars. Brilliant surgeon, charming man, Highly recommended.
